Revision3 iPhone App (Work In Progress)

Friday, Nov 7, 2008, 9:49 pm | In General

Today, I'm announcing that I'm working on a native iPhone application that will allow people to watch all of Revision3's content on the go. The goal is to have it be the quintessential be-all-end-all Rev3 content app. Many others have tried and come up short. I also want to make it very social, so I want the complete opinions, advice, suggestions and hate mail from the Rev3 community and the internet as a whole so I can make it as perfect as possible right out of the gate. As for release dates and such, the project is about half to three-fourths done. The screen-shots shown above are what the app looks like currently but could and probably will change a bit by release.

Leave any suggestions/comments/concerns/hate/love in the comments please. I want to make the app great for everyone, so any and all input is welcome!

  3. This looks great! I would love to be able to watch all my favorite shows immediately through an app! Hope it turns out good!
    Some questions:
    Will it be free?
Are you just making this yourself or is Rev3 part of it?

  5. App looks really cool! Why limit to just Rev3, though?

http://mefeedia.com/podcasts – that, plus Rev3 (they are a partner), plus hundreds more.

  6. It’s ironic that Mashable’s coverage of your new app preceded your own blog’s announcement in my Greader stream. hehe.

Anyways, it seriously looks hot, you’ve got a great direction for this thing. And if I had an iPhone, i’d use it. a lot.

However, since AT&T are commie bastards and want to charge me nearly four times the cost of an iPhone just for an account, I will not be purchasing an iPhone. Instead, I’ll be buying a G1 very shortly now, since they won’t charge me the equivalent cost of my right kidney to get one.

So, why not make an Android app as well? Shouldn’t be too hard, and it’s much easier to make it onto the Android market than on Apple’s. If you do, you’ve got my dollar(s). :D

  7. This looks great… Given that Apple’s 2.2 will finally let us download podcasts with out syncing (however it has a stupid 10mb limit), I am glad you are getting around this limitation.
